Job Description:
The Grant Writing Intern will support Auxilium Health’s efforts in securing funding for its innovative wound care technologies. The intern will work closely with the leadership and research teams to identify funding opportunities, prepare compelling grant proposal outlines, and ensure alignment with funding agency priorities. This role will provide practical experience in grant writing, strategic planning, and nonprofit fundraising, contributing directly to advancing cutting-edge healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities:
Research and identify potential grant opportunities from federal, state, and private funding sources.
Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading grant proposals, including scientific narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
Review funding agency guidelines to ensure proposals meet submission requirements.
Collaborate with technical experts to translate scientific concepts into clear and persuasive language tailored to the funder’s priorities.
Track and maintain records of grant submissions, awards, and reporting deadlines.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
Ability to analyze and synthesize technical and scientific information.
Familiarity with grant application processes or prior experience in proposal writing is preferred.
Background in STEM fields such as chemistry, microbiology, or biomedical engineering is a plus to understand the technical aspects of Auxilium’s projects.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Deliverables:
A completed draft of at least one grant application ready for submission with the help and collaboration of the Auxilium team.
A comprehensive database of funding opportunities relevant to Auxilium Health’s mission and projects.
A guide or checklist for future grant submissions to streamline the application process.
