Job Description:

The Data and Analytics Intern will play a key role in leveraging data to enhance the impact of Books To Succeed (BTS) International. The intern will work on analyzing literacy trends, optimizing book distribution strategies, and evaluating program effectiveness to improve access to education in South Sudan. This project will involve working with real-world data, utilizing analytical tools, and developing insights that support BTS’s mission to bridge the literacy gap.

 

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Gather and preprocess literacy-related datasets (e.g., student engagement, book distribution records, literacy rates).

  • Identify key trends and insights using statistical analysis.

  • Assess the effectiveness of BTS’s reading programs and book donation initiatives.

  • Develop dashboards and reports to communicate findings.

  • Apply machine learning techniques to forecast literacy outcomes and optimize resource allocation.

  • Improve data workflows and reporting processes.

  • Compile key insights and recommendations for BTS leadership at the end of the internship.

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Excel for data analysis.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical methods and impact evaluation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Passion for education, literacy, and social impact is a plus.

 

Expected Deliverables:

  • Data Insights Report with key trends in literacy, book distribution, and program effectiveness.

  • Interactive reports to help BTS track program progress.

  • Final Presentation with summary of findings and recommendations for BTS leadership.

  • Guide on data analysis workflows for future interns.
