Job Description:
The Product Development Intern will support HyperReal Prosthetics in its mission to transform prosthetic care by integrating advanced 3D printing, scanning, and design technologies. The intern will assist in key aspects of product development, including analyzing anatomical 3D scans, conducting material testing, refining prototype designs, and supporting market research initiatives.
In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the intern will work on optimizing 3D printing processes, evaluating materials for durability and realism, and gathering insights from clinicians, patients, and market data to inform design and production strategies. This role offers a unique blend of technical development and market analysis, helping bridge innovation with real-world adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze 3D anatomical scans to aid in the design of tailored prosthetics.
Conduct material research and testing for enhanced durability, comfort, and aesthetic realism.
Optimize designs using 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Assist in prototype production and testing using additive manufacturing processes.
Perform market research, analyzing trends and feedback from clinicians and patients to align product features with user needs.
Document findings and provide actionable recommendations for iterative improvements.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Background in biomedical science, materials science, or engineering.
Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and additive manufacturing processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to conduct market research and summarize key insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication for documentation and reporting.
